IN BELGIO SI PARLA ITALIANO: VIVIANI SI AGGIUDICA LA TRE GIORNI DI LA PANNE
Sesta vittoria stagionale per il nostro connazionale Viviani che si rifà dopo la prestazione sottotono alla Milano-Sanremo. L’atleta italiano coglie la vittoria in volata in questa prima edizione della “Tre giorni di La Panne” disputata in un’unica tappa e va ad arricchire lo score stagionale della Quick-Step Floors che è imbattuta in terra belga da ben cinque gare.
Pochissime difficoltà altimetriche e tratti di pavè limitati alla prima parte della gara, rimane solo il vento a impensierire le squadre dei velocisti nel finale di gara. Il primo ventaglio si verifica a circa tre quarti dei 200 km previsti, il secondo ad una manciata di chilometri dal traguardo, quando il gruppo è ancora intento a ricucire sui sei uomini che erano in fuga dal chilometro cinque e che hanno alzato bandiera bianca a 4 Km dalla conclusione.
Nonostante un lavoro non perfetto del treno della Quick-Step, Elia Viviani, chiamato all’ultimo a sostituire l’infortunato Fernando Gaviria, è riuscito ad aggiudicarsi la corsa battendo il tedesco Pascal Ackermann (Bora - Hansgrohe) e il padrone di casa Jasper Philipsen (Hagens Berman Axeon), mentre altri due belgi – Baptiste Planckaert (Katusha) e Jens Debusschere (Lotto Soudal) completano la top five.
Ora la “Campagna del Nord” proseguirà il suo cammino verso le grande classiche con la Record Bank E3 Harelbeke in calendario venerdì 23 marzo e iscritta al circuito World Tour.
