LA FUGA VA, DE VOS IMBATTIBILE

La terza tappa del Tour de Langkawi va al canadese Adam De Vos (Rally Cycling) che giunge solitario solitario sul traguardo dopo una lunga fuga, precedendo di 13” il sudcoreano Dae-Yeon Kim ( KSPO Bianchi) e il malesiano Nik Zulkifli (Forca Amskins).

Dopo due tappe in cui la collaborazione tra le squadre dei velocisti è stata a dir poco feconda, nella frazione odierna questa è, invece, venuta a mancare, favorendo in questa maniera il ventiquattrenne canadese Adam De Vos, portabandiera della Rally Cycling, alla seconda vittoria da professionista della sua giovane carriera.
La terza frazione, con partenza da Kota Bharu ed arrivo a Kuala Terengganu dopo 166 chilometri, non presentava nessuna difficoltà altimetrica e si svolgeva prevalentemente lungo la costa del Mar Cinese Meridionale. I velocisti erano, dunque, pronti a fare la voce grossa per una probabile volata, che poi non c’è stata perchè proprio all’inizio della corsa parte la fuga decisiva, ad opera del sudocoreano Dae-Yeon Kim (KSPO Bianchi Asia Procycling), del malesiano Nik Mohamad Azman Zulkifli (Forca Amskins Racing), delll’australiano Harry Sweeny (Mitchelton-BikeExchange) e del canadese Adam De Vos (Rally Cycling). Saranno, infatti, i quattro battistrada a giocarsi la vittoria di tappa e nel finale è De Vos a cogliere il momento giusto per lasciare della compagnia degli altri e festeggiare tutto solo sul traguardo, lasciando a 13″ Kim al secondo posto, Zulkifli al terzo e Sweeny al quarto. Oltre un minuto più tardi si disputa la volata del gruppo, che vale solo per il quinto posto, vinta dal malesiano Anuar Manan (Forca Amskins Racing) sul canadese Eric Young (Rally Cycling), sul malesiano Mohd Hariff Saleh (Terengganu Cycling Team), sull’italiano Luca Pacioni (Wilier Triestina – Selle Italia), sull’elvetico Dylan Page (Team Sapura Cycling) e sullo sloveno Marko Kump (CCC Sprandi Polkowice), che chiude la top ten di giornata.
La classifica generale vede ancora un cambiamento di leadership e così Riccardo Minali (Astana), pur rimanendo il migliore dei nostri, deve cedere la maglia a vantaggio di De Vos, che è ora in testa con 14” di vantaggio su Zulkifli, 22” su Sweeny e 1′19″ sul velocista veronese.
