MALESIA, ECCO LA PRIMA DI MINALI

La seconda tappa del Tour de Langkawi va al velocista dell’Astana Riccardo Minali che nello sprint finale riesce a precedere Matteo Malucelli (Androni Sidermec) e Paolo Simion (Bardiani CSF).

Grand’Italia anche quest’oggi al Giro della Malesia, dopo il successo di Andrea Guardini (Bardiani CSF) nella tappa d’apertura: tre azzurri nei primi tre posti e quattro nella top ten della seconda frazione, conteggiando anche il sesto posto di Luca Pacioni (Wilier Triestina – Selle Italia). E intanto è arriva la prima vittoria da professionista Riccardo Minali (Astana), figlio d’arte (il padre Nicola corse dal 1993 al 2002) giunto nella categoria maggiore l’anno scorso e con le migliori promesse, ottenendo però solo alcuni piazzamenti nella stagione del debutto.
La seconda tappa della corsa malese, con partenza da Gerik ed arrivo a Kota Bharu dopo 208 chilometri, presentava un percorso complicato nella prima parte, con una salita lunga di 1a categoria che terminava poco sopra i 1000 metri di quota, ma totalmente pianeggiante ed più favorevole agli uomini veloci negli ultimi 100 Km.
Così anche oggi le squadre dei velocisti non hanno concesso troppo spazio alla fuga di giornata, giungendo sul traguardo in una situazione di gruppo compatto. Dopo un ottimo lavoro di preparazione dell’Astana, lo spunto finale di Minali non ha avuto eguali e gli avversari si sono dovuti accontentare solo dei piazzamenti. Il portacolori della squadra kazaka ha preceduto nell’ordine gli italiano Matteo Malucelli (Androni – Sidermec – Bottecchia) e Paolo Simion (Bardiani – CSF), il kazako Yevgeniy Gidich (Astana), lo sloveno Marko Kump (CCC Sprandi Polkowice), l’italiano Pacioni, l’australiano Kaden Groves (St. George Continental), lo statunitense Eric Young (Rally Cycling), il sudcoreano Joon Yong Seo (KSPO Bianchi) e l’elvetico Dylan Page (Team Sapura Cycling). In virtù del ritardo accumulato da Guardini, staccatosi ad inizio tappa e giunto al traguardo a quasi un quarto d’ora dai primi, il nuovo leader della classifica è diventato proprio Minali con un vantaggio di 5” nei confronti del sudcoreano Seo e di Malucelli.
Domani è in programma una frazione totalmente priva di difficoltà lunga 166 Km, con partenza dalla stessa Kota Bharu e arrivo a Kuala Terengganu
